Karina joined FutureNeuro in October 2017 as Reporting Officer which involves post award reporting and preparing and submitting funding applications. Previous to this role Karina worked at the Research & Enterprise Hubs team in DCU where she worked for 3 years in preparing & submitting national & European funding applications across all disciplines. Previous roles include working as a lab technician for four years for the research programme Inspire in DIT research centre; the Focas Institute in the field of nanomaterial toxicology in humans and the environment. Prior to this role she was employed as a Quality Control lab analyst in the pharmaceutical sector in Pfizer for over two years. Qualifications held are an Hons BSc in Toxicology, awarded by Athlone Institute of Technology and an MPhil carried in the Focas Institute to study the toxicity of carbon nanomaterials on various fresh water aquatic species.
