Marc is a PhD scholar under the supervision of Dr. Gary Brennan. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry, and an MSc (Med) in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. Marc's work is focused on scrutinising the effects of mutations in the gene encoding chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 2 (CHD2) on the epigenome and transcriptome in developing neurons. The project is aimed at increasing our understanding of the molecular basis of epileptogenesis, and at illuminating future therapeutic directions for CHD2-myoclonic encephalopathy.
