Dr. Tina Bedenik is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the RCSI School of Population Health, Data Science Centre. Tina works with Prof Kathleen Bennett on a qualitative study that is part of the Science Foundation Ireland EMPOWER spoke, which explores how to build public trust and confidence in secondary use of health data for health improvement and research. Tina holds a PhD in Social Justice (UCD), Erasmus Mundus MA in Human Rights (University of Tromsø, University of Gothenburg and University of Roehampton) and MA in Political Science (University of Zagreb). She was awarded with the Irish Research Council Government of Ireland Scholarship for her doctoral research, and she received funding from the European Commission and the Government of Croatia for her academic excellence. Prior to joining RCSI Tina worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at DCU Business School, and she held posts in research and policy in private and public health and social care sector. Tina also taught undergraduate and postgraduate modules at UCD, and she is the Dissertation Supervisor on the MSc in Healthcare Management in RCSI.
