Tell us a little about your background and what led you to a career in science and research?

I trained as a nurse, and it was by chance that I started working in clinical research.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I’m involved with the financial management of grants and also the coordination and preparation of ethics & regulatory approvals for ongoing research.

What do you find most challenging about your job?

I work part-time, completing urgent tasks can be a challenge on a daily basis.

What has been the highlight of your career to date?

Being involved with the set up and management of clinical trials that have improved patient outcomes.

Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to pursue your career?

There hasn’t been one particular person who has influenced my career, but I have received a lot of support from colleagues throughout my career.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about pursuing a career in STEM?

Most importantly pursue a career that you have interest in and enjoy.

What impact do you hope your role in FutureNeuro will have over the next five years?

Enabling researchers to continue with their research by assisting with the ethics and regulatory approvals process.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

I spent a summer working in BMW Munich…a long time ago!!!

What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy yoga and hill walking.
